Research summary

N-Acetyl Selank Amidate is Selank with both termini chemically blocked — acetylated at the N-terminus, amidated at the C-terminus. The underlying tuftsin-Pro-Gly-Pro sequence is unchanged; the modifications exist purely to extend metabolic stability. Free peptide termini are the recognition sites for aminopeptidases and carboxypeptidases, and capping them removes the fastest route by which short peptides are cleared. Published work on terminally modified analogues describes substantially longer persistence as a result, and the C-terminal amidation additionally neutralises the terminal negative charge, increasing lipophilicity. Research applications mirror those of unmodified Selank — GABAergic and monoaminergic modulation, enkephalin system effects, immunomodulatory activity — with this variant selected where a longer-acting probe is wanted. Every lot is analysed by RP-HPLC for purity and confirmed by LC-MS, with the batch certificate published against the lot number.

Handling & reconstitution

Supplied as a lyophilised powder. Allow the vial to reach room temperature before opening. Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water added slowly down the inner wall. The terminal modifications make this variant marginally less hydrophilic than unmodified Selank, so allow a little longer for complete dissolution and swirl gently rather than shaking. The finished solution should be clear.

Storage

Lyophilised: -20 °C, sealed and dry, protected from light. Reconstituted: 2–8 °C, used within approximately four to six weeks. With both termini blocked and no oxidation-prone residues in the sequence, this is one of the more stable compounds in the catalogue in aqueous solution. Standard sterile technique and refrigeration are sufficient; avoid freeze-thaw cycling.
