Handling & reconstitution
Unlike everything else in this catalogue, Cerebrolysin is supplied as a sterile aqueous solution, not a lyophilised powder. There is nothing to reconstitute. Bring the ampoule or vial to room temperature before use and inspect it against a light source — the solution is clear to slightly amber, and any cloudiness, precipitate or marked darkening means it should be discarded. If dilution is required for a protocol, use a compatible sterile diluent and prepare immediately before use. Do not mix with buffers containing amino acids, and do not combine it with strongly alkaline solutions.
Storage
Supplied as a solution: store at 2–8 °C, protected from light, in the original sealed container until use. Do not freeze — freezing a complex peptide mixture causes selective precipitation of individual fractions and alters the composition the preparation is defined by. Once opened, use promptly and do not retain partially used containers. Because the product is aqueous from the outset it has no dry-state reserve of stability, and it is correspondingly less tolerant of temperature excursion in transit than the lyophilised compounds here.
